Creating a New Widget
Activation Reminder
A widget must be both saved AND set to "Live" status to be visible to members. The "Live" checkbox is the final step that activates your widget on member dashboards.
Configuration Options
Widgets support several configuration fields to control their appearance and functionality:
- Header Text (Required): This text appears as the widget title on member dashboards
- Body Text (Required): Primary content displayed within the widget body
- Body Image (Optional): Recommended size: 300x200 pixels (JPG, PNG, GIF)
- Image Hyperlink (Optional): URL destination when users click the image
- Footer Text (Optional): Call-to-action text in formatted footer box
- Footer Hyperlink (Optional): URL destination when users click footer text
Widget Targeting
Use the tagging system to control which members see your widgets:
- No Tags: Widget visible to all members across all employer groups and plans
- Employer Tags: Restrict widget to specific employer groups only
- Plan Tags: Restrict widget to members with specific health plans
- Combined Tags: Members must match ALL applied tags to see the widget
Targeting Strategy
Start with broader targeting and refine based on engagement metrics. Test widgets with small groups before rolling out to all members. Consider creating different versions for different audiences.
Widget Best Practices
Content Guidelines
- Keep it concise: Use clear, actionable language that members can quickly understand
- Focus on value: Ensure each widget provides clear benefit to the member
- Use compelling images: Visual elements should support and enhance the message
- Include clear calls-to-action: Make it obvious what members should do next
Technical Considerations
- Test thoroughly: Verify widgets appear correctly across different devices and browsers
- Monitor performance: Track click-through rates and user engagement
- Update regularly: Keep content fresh and relevant to maintain member interest
- Optimize placement: Consider widget positioning and member dashboard flow
Visibility Settings
By default, widgets are visible to every member across all employer groups and plans until they are tagged. Always review your targeting settings before activating widgets to ensure appropriate visibility.
